Jubilee Reach

The most important outcome so far with this grant has been the ability to serve warm food starting with the first day of school in September. Over the summer, thanks to another gift we received, we replaced our 4-burner stove with a 6-burner stove. However, after the new stove was installed we discovered that our current electrical set up wasn’t enough to provide the necessary power. So, we had to have an electrician upgrade our power and we also had to find a donor willing to cover those costs. So, for the past 6 weeks, we heavily relied on the new electric convection oven to cook 2,100 meals and snacks for the students in our before and after school program and our weekly meals provided to students and their mentors in our evening KidREACH program. Secondly, our Jubilee REACH Center staff is very grateful for their new computers and monitors. The day prior to receiving new computers one of our staff’s members computer (that was very old) went through a 3+ hour upgrade. The morale and productivity of our team improved immensely after they received their new laptop computers, monitors and accessories.

At the Jubilee REACH Center, we step in the gap for those in need providing access to programs and services focused on growing community and empowering vulnerable youth and families. We have over 1,000 people a week visit the Jubilee REACH Center. At our Center, we provide free services that include before and after school care, English as a Second Language classes, financial assistance, tax preparation assistance, pregnancy care and mobile dental clinics. The Jubilee REACH Center serves over 60,000 meals and snacks annually to students in our program and community members. Our Jubilee REACH Center staff support our work in 13 schools where over 8,500 students are served. We provide centralized support for the Jubilee REACH Thrift Store where students and families in need can receive donated clothing, housewares and furniture. Finally, our Jubilee REACH Center staff hold community building events such as Jubilee Service Day where over 3,000 community members come together to serve teachers and schools in need.
